Balkhash copper smelting plant put into operation the technology of sulfuric acid obtaining from copper charge thermal treatment metallurgical gases. In contrast to the technologies, which have been earlier used in Kazakhstan, this one has no circulation of gas washing solutions and their settling. Introduction of this technology led to the significant increasing of the volume of washing solutions and sharp decreasing of their rhenium concentration. Center of Earth Sciences, Metallurgy and Ore Benefication used the industrial solutions for the development of the sorption technology of rhenium extraction with obtaining of ammonium perrhenate. There were also defined the indicators of rhenium sorption on anionite A170 and rhenium desorption from it. The technology was tested in semi-industrial scale on the specially assembled setting. There was made a definition that 20.8 kg of rhenium is sorbed for 1 m3 of anionite A170 from the solutions, where rhenium concentration varied from 6.2 to 10 mg/dm3. At the same time, rhenium is desorbed by 2–3 sp. vol. of ammonia. Technical ammonium perrhenate, containing 68.85% (wt.) of rhenium and 0.0033% (wt.) of potassium was obtained from eluates. Pure ammonium perrhenate (according to the requirements of the Standard GOST 31411–2009) was obtained from technical one, using direct and separate recrystallization and electrodialysis. From 95 to 97% of rhenium was extracted on sorption operation during the transmission of 3600 sp. vol. of solution, while 99% of rhenium was extracted on desorption stage. Technological regulations were made on the basis of the results of the testings. The estimated industrial cost of 1 kg of rhenium in ammonium perrhenate was 31.45% from the minimal cost of rhenium on the global market. |
