Abstract

Content of valuable mineral in any final product or concentrate, obtained by concentration, is one of the most important indicators, defining its quality. Copper concentrate is mainly obtained by flotation from copper-porphyric ores. Concentration efficiency depends on ore genesis, grain shapes and mineral composition. During ore mining on deposit, the mineral composition and type of rocks are changed. The deposit subsurface consists of primary sulfide ores, containing pyrite, chalcopyrite, molybdenite, hypogene bornite and chalcocite. Information about these ore characteristics allows the choice of the optimal concentration technology and reagent mode of concentrate obtaining, corresponding to the quality standards. Detail investigation of copper content in bulk concentrate is very important for the control of metal content in copper concentrate. We designed the metal content in the bulk concentrate of Erdenet Mining Corporation and defined the conditions of high-quality concentrate obtaining, using mathematical method. We also defined the function of metal content dependence on 4 variables (consumption of collectors АEPO-МХ and ВК-901; part of primary and oxidated minerals). We offered the linear model and carried out its assessment by least-square technique. The analysis defined the factors, effecting the quality of bulk concentrate. According to this, copper content in bulk concentrate may be therafter planed. Recommended costs of collectors AЕРО-МХ and ВК-901, and results of investigations at these conditions are given. Copper extraction in bulk concentrate 87.1% (with its content 15.1%) was found with minimal flotation time 2.73 min.
