«Pages of my life» — is a book of memoirs by the famous archeologist and orientalist, director of the State Hermitage Museum for many years, notable cultural figure, academician Boris Borisovich Piotrovskiy. The memoirs cover for about 40 years of the scientist`s life — from the childhood and adolescence till the events of the 1956.

The memoirs contain many of the most interesting episodes and personal evidences from the history of Russian culture and science. Reader can imagine the portrait gallery of people, due to the activity of whom, there were laid the basis of the young Soviet science and art. Among them, there are: N. Ya. Marr, A. A. Miller, I. I. Meshchaninov, I. A. Orbeli, V. V. Struve, A. N. Krylov, D. A. Olderogge, M. S. Saryan, V. A. Ambartsumyan and many others. The drawings, issued from B. B. Piotrovskiy`s pen are presented on the book`s pages.

The book is lavishly illustrated and intended both for the specialists and for the wide readership, who is interested in the history of Russian culture and science.

The materials from the State Hermitage Museum Archive and personal archives of E. K. Piotrovskaya, L. B. Piotrovskiy, M. B. Piotrovskaya and L. Yu. Piotrovskaya are published in the book.
