Chernye Metally
The 7th issue of “Chernye metally” journal (2018) includes the most of its usual sections.
It is opened by the article “Al influence on the phase composition, structure and properties of heat- and wear-resistant cast iron of Cr-Mn-Ni-Ti system” by V. Kolokoltsev, E. Petrochenko and O. Molochkova from Magnitogorsk State Technical University. It is shown that aluminum forms a dense protective film of location zone, corresponding to the eutectics, which is porous and its thickness increases. Thus, it can be concluded that scale resistance is a structural sensitive property.
The specialists from SSAB company (Sweden) published the paper with examination of blast furnace practice with low emission of carbon dioxide. It is concluded that by limiting the hot gas temperature to 850 ºC and using metallic heat exchangers the hot stoves are available for periods with conventional BF operation.
5 articles are presenting the new developments of the specialists from EVRAZ Nizhniy Tagil Iron and Steel Works. They are located in the following sections: “Coke and Chemical production” (Improvement of coal charge preparation scheme for production of quenched coke in the coke and chemical shop), “Rolling and Metal Forming” (Production of crane rails from K76F steel and Putting into practice the statistical control of production processes in the conditions of wheel and tyre shop), “Power Engineering and Ecology” (Formation and processing of metallurgical wastes as well as Utilization of aspiration dusts in steelmaking production).
The coloured insert is devoted to development of iron ore base for metallurgical works in Gornaya Shoriya region.
The section “Power Engineering and Ecology” includes also two papers by German scientists – on usage of ion chromatography for combustion products for definition of flour content in slag and on recycling of building materials.
The issue also contains papers in the section “Steel as material” and «Technopolis» (about Nizhniy Tagil).
