The issue has eight main sections, and the first of them, “Preparation of Raw Materials,” is devoted to the study and substantiation of structural and technological parameters of the process for grinding agglomeration fluxes in a hammer mill. The new design of the crusher hammers proposed by the authors has passed industrial tests at the charge preparation section of a sinter shop of one of enterprises.
In the section "Pig Iron Production", a system is proposed for automated control of blast distribution over the blast furnace air tuyeres and the subsequent change in the pulverized coal distribution along the furnace circumference in order to equalize or create a given non-uniformity of the theoretical combustion temperature.
A special section is devoted to the 55th anniversary of the chair for Material Science and Metallurgical Processes of Chuvash State University, it contains articles written by authors - representatives of this chair.
The section "Foundry" offers a second part of the article on the systematization of properties and parameters of foundry coke, devoted to its physical properties. A theoretically substantiated set of measures has also been proposed to increase the efficiency of smelting paraffinostearin model compounds in hot water, which has successfully passed tests in the current production environment.
In connection with the 55th anniversary of the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant, the journal published an interview «BMZ is the BMK Holding Management Company» with D. A. Korchik, the General Director of the OJSC.
The articles in the section “Rolling and other metal forming processes” are devoted to such topics as the controlled temperature control of the end of the rolling; modes of heating bimetallic billets in methodical furnaces and rolling in the pilgrim mill of the tube rolling complex 8-16″, aimed at minimizing defects in bimetallic wear-resistant tubes; the viability of using computer modeling to find ways for improving the stamping process and reducing the metal consumption of products; the influence of temperature and structure of a round billet on the split of grinding balls.
The section “Heating and heat treatment” describes a solution to the linear one-dimensional task of heat conduction for a plate, cylinder, and ball. An algorithm is proposed for solving direct and inverse one-dimensional task of heat conduction, as well as an algorithm for solving direct and inverse task of heat conduction for a cylinder with a limited height and a parallelepiped with a limited dimensions (with reference to any given point of these bodies).
In the section "Engineering Technologies" it is shown that when using ceramic plates, the radial component of the cutting force significantly exceeds the main one, which favorably affects the type of plate loading.
The October issue is finished by news on the latest foreign developments in the field of metallurgy.
