The February 2020 Issue of Mining Journal groups the articles into the traditional sections.
The issue opens with a publication devoted to history and current performance of the Institute of Earth Sciences within the Belgorod State University, as well as to the commercial, social and cultural significance of the Institute for the Belgorod Region.
In a problem-setting article, the NUST MISIS scientists discuss the technology and legislation aspects for the mining art to grow out of the planetary limits and to develop the extraterrestrial space.
The Reader might be interested in the review of social and economic safety in the mining chemistry as a leading sector of industry in the Republic of Belarus. The article on economical and environmental impact of gold production in terms of Ecuador deserves attention, too.
In 2019 the society of mining engineers celebrated the 100th anniversary of V. V. Rzhevsky, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, who greatly contributed to the development of the open pit mining method. In honor of the date, BELAZ dump truck has been given the name Academician V. V. Rzhevsky is 100. The dump truck has been purchased by the STROISERVIS Company and is fruitfully operated in an open pit mine in Kuzbass. The information on that event is given on the inside of the front cover.
