The scope of the April 2020 Issue of Mining Journal encompasses nearly all conventional topics of the Journal.
The issue opens with a contribution of Professor A. I. Kopytov and co-authors, entitled as Anticipated Errors of Coal Field Geometrization at the Stages of Exploration and Mining. The article proposes a method to evaluate reliability of basic parameters of coal beds determined at the stages of exploration and mining.
The article prepared by the fellows of the Institute of Coal at the Federal Research Center for Coal and Coal Chemistry, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences presents the studies into the composition of coal dust, the laws of its variation and the method of mechanical fracture of coal. The research findings should be taken into account in modeling various physical effects of mining on coal beds. Another noteworthy article discusses improvability of production control in coal mines using the tools of the Theory of Games. An interesting article on reclamation of the environment after attack by mining operations generalizes diverse ecological impacts of mines and examines environmental improvement methods applicable in the course of mineral mining.
