Gornyi Zhurnal
The scope of the September 2021 issue of Gornyi Zhurnal encompasses all traditional sections.
This issue opens with a selection of articles focused on the current challenges in solid mineral mining. The articles discuss sustainable development of geotechnical systems in the light of advanced geotechnologies in underground mining, and the structure and behavior of the anthropogenically altered subsoil. The stress–strain analysis of a frame mine structure and the mechanisms of extensional straining are presented. Substantiation is given to the parameters of underground mining systems with caving. The stoping technology and its design parameters are discussed as a case-study of an iron ore body in Gornaya Shoria. The systems of mining are selected for a deposit characterized with complicated geological and geotechnical conditions. The other subjects include creation of underground borehole storage facilities with washout of sandy permafrost in the Far North of Russia and integrated geotechnical strength monitoring of a large cross-section extended rib in Iletsk rock salt mine.
Aimed to commemorate the 30th anniversary of independence in the Republic of Tajikistan, the Journal presents the address of the Tajikistan’s Minister of Transport: History of Earth Sciences in Tajikistan with spotlight on the value of geological exploration and subsoil management in advance of the mining industry in Tajikistan.
The other special topic articles can also be beneficial to the research and practical work of the Journal’s readers.
