Gornyi Zhurnal
The scope of the February 2022 (No. 2) issue of Gornyi Zhurnal embraces all traditional sections.
The issue opens with the discussion of mutual effects of geodynamic and fluid dynamic processes. In addition, it is suggested that it is possible to find dependences between the oil and gas contents of reservoirs and the parameters of fluid dynamics in a region, which can serve reliable quantitative and qualitative prospecting criteria of hydrocarbon occurrences at minimized risks and at enhanced efficiency of geological exploration.
Another article brought to the attention of readers examines operation of mining industry clusters as a case-study of amber production. A new way is proposed for arranging the territorial and industrial interaction between participants of production processes in the Russian economy.
An interesting predictive scenario concerns intelligent control of power consumption at processing plants. The proposed method to determine specific power consumption enables solving various tasks of technology, including power consumption efficiency valuation in process flows of processing plants.
The articles included in the Environmental Protection Section estimate economic efficiency of the best available technologies in partial substitution of pulverized coal fuel at heat power stations by coal–water slurry fuel, discuss satellite monitoring data on vegetation in the area of an operating copper ore mine in Vietnam and offer engineering proposals to eliminate spill of storable petroleum, oil and lubricants on ground surface in the Far North.
The article entitled as Mining Engineer L. F. Grauman and the Gold Mining Industry Development in Russia in commemoration of the Gornyi Zhurnal’s 200th anniversary tells about a prominent graduator of the Saint-Petersburg Mining Institute and about the role of this man in development of the gold mining industry in Russia.
