The 50-years history of Kovdor Ore Dressing and Processing Enterprise is characterized as the innovarion activity. On the basis of this activity was created the efficiently operating system of rational subsurface usage, with the production of iron ore, apatite and baddeleyte concentrates from natural and technogenic mineral raw materials. Nowadays, this system is being developed. For 50 years of its activity, the enterprise obtained some results: over 580 mln. t of ore and near 60 mln. t of technogenic sands has been obtained and processed from the main open pit; near 430 mln. m³ of overburden rocks has been developed and delivered to the dumps; the total excavation of rock mass from the main open pit is near 580 mln. m³; more than 210 mln. t of iron ore concentrate, near 57 mln. t of apatite concentrate and 150000 t of baddeleyte concentrate has been produced and delivered to consumers.
This article gives the assessment of the main investment projects within the long-term development strategy of the enterprise.
