Since 1946, there have been carried out the geological prospecting works at deposits of Kachkanar titanium-magnetite ores group. During the extraction of iron ores of Gusevogorsk deposit, there is carried out the exploitation (core drilling) and advanced (drilling and blasting wells testing) methods of exploitation. Re-exploration of south-western area of Sobstvenno-Kachkanar deposit was carried out for the purpose of conversion of reserves from the C₂ category to the C₁ category.
