This article shows the results of creative activity of Academician Viktor V. Kafarov in the field of science, high technical education, theory and practice of chemical technology. Together with his followers, V. Kafarov made a great contribution in theoretical aspects of chemical technology, connected with the problems of the following activities: mathematical regulation, calculation, optimization and designing of chemical-technological processes; development of engineering-instrument designing of these processes; development of principles and methods of analysis of complex chemical-technological systems, synthesis of resource-saving ecologicallysafe systems and other main problems of chemical technology development. Academician Viktor V. Kafarov was one of organizers and leaders of scientific-information service in Russia. The main field of his activity was high education and preparation of high qualified personnel for science, industry and high school.
