The Institute for Integrated Production in Hannover (IPH) has presented the forging tool able to provide fabrication of shapes that were impossible earlier. This equipment allows to form so-called internal gutters during forging process. e.g. hole for a piston pin in engines. This technology provides more easy further processing, saving of material and lowering of production expenses. As a result, usage of forged steel pistons becomes more effi cient and pistons are loaded simultaneously.
