Modern bin system is a compound mechanized shaft station object composed of different interrelated mechanisms and mine workings for rehandling of rocks from mine haulage system to the hoisting system for ore delivery to ground surface. Traditional bin systems for the Verkhnekamsky potash mines are high-angle bins located near mine shafts. The high-capacity bins as well as their close location to the mine shafts contribute to development of creep processes in saliferous rocks. As a result, the inner lining of dosing chambers and bins as well as the shaft lining fails. Based on analysis of the industrial experience and numerical modeling of geomechanical processes in rock masses, the technological and geomechanical assessment of the main structural layouts of bins was performed in ANSYS software package. It is found that the most rational structure of mine bins for saliferous rocks of the Verkhnekamsky potash deposit is a high-angle bin with diameter up to 6 m located at a distance not less than 20 m from the mine shaft and lined with monolithic armored concrete 30 cm thick. In contrast with the mine shaft lining, the bin lining is possible with monolithic concrete without creating a deformational flexible layer. As a protective coating of the concrete lining against abrasive wear, it is possible to use sheet iron, rail bar or cast-iron tubbing. To provide roof stability and to expand maintenance-free period of feeder chamber lining, it is necessary to use frame lining with flexible elements together with temporal support (rock bolts, rock bolts with bearing plates).
