The article describes the principles of integrating education, science and production to improve efficiency of the mining business in Russia. The study has been implemented at the Russian State Geological Prospecting University. An efficient mining business involves multilateral alliances and partnerships between a large company and scientific institutions. The developed industrial countries actively create alliances, partnerships, etc. In Russia, this process is constrained by the imperfection of the national legislation. The authors describe the use of a new complex typology of integration forms and processes. There are three stages of integration: first, potential participants to an integration project are found and justified; then, the production goals and joint activity plans are agreed, as well as the management of the basic company, cooperation procedures, shared funds, bonus programs, etc are formed; finally, the achievements and risks are monitored, and modifications to interactions between participants in the alliance are proposed. Parent industrial companies should pay more attention to the growth of their knowledge intensity and innovation. The mining business of Russia disagrees to the extremely low public funding of R&D sphere. Management regulation in alliances should cover the levels and objectives in the given sector, between sectors and in the region. The innovative aspects of integration are specific. The role of intellectual property grows, while its use and legal protection complicate. New regulations are to be developed in the areas of research, innovation and education. The integration processes in mining should be stimulated by a new industrial policy of the governmental agencies concerned. |
