As the international experience shows, the progressive movement of the economy as a whole and its individual sectors increases the need for appropriate labor resources. The intensive economic development of the Far East of Russia and the implementation of new investment projects exacerbates the issue of finding the necessary specialists. The mineral resource sector is traditionally one of the most important areas of development of the Far East, which is currently characterized by an increase in production volumes. Stable negative trends in the demographic processes of the Far Eastern regions make mining business more vulnerable in comparison with the relevant mining projects in the other regions of Russia, in terms of the possibilities of solving personnel issues. The paper deals with the strategy of personnel policy of the Kimkan–Sutara Mining and Processing Plantlocated in  the Jewish Autonomous region. Despite the objective difficulties in solving the personnel issue, it can be noted that currently vacancies are only 11% of the staff of the plant. The personnel service of the company works with potential employees both in the territory of EAO and beyond. Young professionals and professionally trained workers are involved. The plant is actively working to expand the direction of professional training: the company operates a training center, training of employees in the specialty “Mineral Processing” on the basis of the Amur State University named after Sholom Aleichem. The undoubted advantage of this project is the high proportion of the plant's employees living in the Jewish Autonomous region, which emphasizes not only the economic but also the social significance of this project for the Jewish Autonomous Region.
