Rural settlements of modern Russia are the basis of the food policy of the country. They ensure the demographic and economic development. A complicating factor is the location of rural settlements in the immediate vicinity of particularly dangerous industrial and mining facilities. The relevance of the conducted research is determined by the long-term and significant scale impacts of quarrying on the underground hydrosphere. Ecological and hydrogeochemical assessment of the processes of groundwater transformation is the basis for the development of a water supply system in the region. The purpose of the work is to identify the specifics of the ecological and hydrogeochemical situation transformation in the influence zone of Stoilensky GOK mining facilities in the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly. The assessment of the degree of chemical pollution was carried out by indicators developed during the coupled geochemical and hygienic studies of the environment. As a result of the research, a moderately dangerous state of groundwater was revealed for most of the surveyed area. The main pollutants are lead and iron. The main sources of transformation of the underground hydrosphere in the area of a large mining enterprise are: the processes of rock leaching in the contour of a depression funnel; the surface intake of pollutants as a result of various types of practical and economic activities. A distinctive feature of such areas is the depth of transformation of the underground hydrosphere and its differentiation in the section.
