The current trends in the development of the mining industry are accompanied by the harmonization of internal standards across different countries or economic entities, through mutual recognition or the creation of documents bridging the gaps between them. As an alternative, some countries abandon long-standing national systems in favor of internationally accepted frameworks. This approach involves a significant shift in legal regulations, often leading to numerous inconsistencies. It is characterized by the simultaneous operation of old and new systems, as the rights and relationships established under the old system continue to be governed by the regulations in effect at the time of their formation. The issue is particularly relevant in the context of the classification standards for mineral resources, as currently there are several internationally recognized standards, as well as numerous national standards. Among these, the most well-known are the United Nations Framework Classification for Resources (UNFC), the CRIRSCO family of classifications, and the national classifications based on the former USSR classification system. The classification currently in use in the Republic of Armenia, while based on the core elements of the former USSR classification system, has undergone significant modifications. These changes incorporate new understandings and regulations, particularly those concerning the valuation process of mineral resources. The creation of a bridging document between the classification of solid mineral resources and reserves in the Republic of Armenia and the United Nations Framework Classification (UFC), or the development of the necessary general principles for such a document, can be realized based on the common economic components present in the aforementioned classification systems.
