The paper examines the application of a systems approach to improving the quality characteristics of rolled transformer steel by modifying the existing technology. An analytical review was conducted of the influence of industrial processing parameters for transformer steel on the formation of aluminum nitride particles. These particles determine the conditions for secondary recrystallization in the metal during heat treatment, the degree of perfection of the crystallographic texture, and, ultimately, the magnetic properties of the finished product. Using a method for structuring the functional properties of the product and a matrix analysis tool, a systems analysis of the current transformer steel production technology was performed. Relations were established between customer requirements for the performance characteristics of rolled products and the technological requirements for their industrial processing. As a result, areas for optimizing processing modes within the current transformer steel production technology were identified. Pilot campaigns have demonstrated a significant improvement in the magnetic properties of the finished products.
The development of the models at UrFU was supported by the Russian Science Foundation (RSF) grant No. 25-19-00683, https://rscf.ru/project/25-19-00683/.
