The paper observes opportunity of fabrication of partly or completely metallized products from iron-carbon compositions on the base of metallurgical wastes, such as scale in rolling shops and slime in basic oxygen shops. Brown coal semi-coke is recommended for usage as perspective reducing agent for solid-phase reduction of oxide iron. The results of experiments undertaken at West-Siberian metallurgical works are presented.
