The paper presents development of simple, reliable and cheap method of surface hardening of ferrite-perlite gray iron via diffusion chromizing. The rate of oxygen and carbon diffusion exceeds the rate of chromium diffusion, what results in carbon oxidation and removal of obstacles for chromium penetration inside metal.
