In downstream processing of rolled sheet materials, e. g. in presses which make exposed car body parts, complete oiling of the material is of key importance both for the surface quality of the product and for reduced wear of the forming press. This article features the oil film monitoring system installed at the No 4 inspection line of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe. This system ensures exact, fast and reliable oil film monitoring after the oiling machine.
