The main stages of 80-years history of establishment and development of “Giproruda” institute – one of the leaders in area of designing mining extraction complexes have been shown. The most large enterprises, built according to the institute projects and successfully operated in Russia and other countries of CIS have been conduced. The description of process of modernization of engineering operations at “Giproruda” on  the base of modern 3D-technologies, design automation system, program products and new approaches in conditions of market economy has been done.
