Название The Castrip process — the current status of commercial low-carbon steel strip casting

Реферат Commercial production of thin low-carbon steel sheets utilizing the Castrip process has been proven at Nucor Steel’s strip casting facility at Crawfordsville, Indiana. Nucor’s Castrip machine was installed in 2002 and the plant produces Ultra-thin cast Strip (UCS) material in the thickness range of 0.8 to 1.5 mm. Nucor steel is currently constructing its second thin-strip casting plant at Blytheville, Arkansas which is scheduled to start up late 2008. This paper provides an update on the current status of Castrip technology.
