ThyssenKrupp VDM GmbH has invested strongly to increase its competitiveness. A major part of more than 70 million Euro strategic investment program, which was launched in 2006, was spent on the construction of the new forging line at the Unna production site. The facility is one of the most advanced open-die forging plants in the world and was realized in only two years from first idea to the date of commissioning on 15 February 2008.
