Реферат	For steel plant locations which are not able to cover their entire demand for fuel with coke oven gas or blast furnace gas the use of converter gas is of high economic importance. The increase of energy costs in recent years has resulted in the fact that also for newcomers the investments in the necessary infrastructure amortize faster. Using the example of the converter gas use of the Saarstahl AG at its site in Volklingen the development of this technology during the past 20 years is illustrated.
