Nowadays, there are being discussed the basic directions of governmental work on a toughening of enterprises` responsibility for its harmful environmental impact. The calendar dates are published along with amounts of increasing the payments for ecological damage to 2016. There are given the chemical composition characteristics and searching results of the directions of solid waste utilization. This solid waste is cake, which is released due to the described operating technology of derefining of the liquid wastes of refinery industry. On the basis of the early researching on extraction of magnetite from cake, the following operations were held:
– continuing the process optimization researching;
– testing the chosen processes of iron powder obtaining (carbonaceous reducing, soda method and iron reducing from its chlorides);
– proposing a new technological scheme of liquid wastes processing of refinery industry, which includes the recycling of iron powder.

Iron powder is obtained through the chloride scheme. As a cementing reagent, the characteristics of iron powder exceed the commodity powder, which is obtained from iron with the grade PGRV 4.200.26. The organization of iron recycling scheme in the refining technology leads to considerable decrease of solid wastes amount. Nowadays, “Krastsvetmet” JSC practices the substitution of iron powder, which is being yearly purchased, for the obtained powder from its recycling. This operation allows to decrease the factor cost on the purchased iron powder to 15 million roubles per year. According to the preliminary economic evaluation, the payback period will be not longer than five years. The payback period is considered, nonregistering the decreasing of payment for solid wastes burial, which part is very small in the whole enterprise`s payment for liquid wastes dumping.
