Russia has a great reserves of a black coal. Due to the modern extraction rates by 300 million tones per year, these resources will be available for 500–600 years. And with it, deep concentration of coal is necessary for effective usage of coal in various areas of Russian economics, especially, in energetics and metallurgy.
Currently, all extracted coking coal is been beneficiated. Energetic coal (more than 100 million tones) is been beneficiated only for export. Coal is burned practically without beneficiation in Russian thermal power-stations and in public-utality sector. Nowadays, more than 20 coal-cleaning plants and 12 installations on energetic coal processing are functioning in Russia, but their production is not entirely in demand.
Enterprises should increase the beneficiating capacity, broad the coal stock and increase its quality. The following problems should be solved to achieve these goals:
- development, assertion and implementation the strategic planning, which replies to long-term program of Russian coal industry development for the period till 2030;
- wide usage of the projects with a participation of government state and private capital, including the forward agreements;
- implementation of more innovative high-technological decisions in and around the extraction, beneficiation and usage of coal;
- modernization of technology park and reducing the railroad tariffs on the transportation of coal and its production;
- restoration the machinery plants, which produce the coal-cleaning plants;
- organization of the appropriate system of a preparation of high-qualified personnel.
