This year is the 55-th anniversary of the design service of BELAZ – one of the largest pit equipment manufacturers in the world and in the CIS countries. The third issue of the journal includes the anniversary article, devoted to the stages of development and formation of design department of BELAZ.
The section «Designing and mining-constructions work» includes the article by E. Hormazabal (Head of Department, Chief Geomechanics Consultant (SRK Consulting (Chile) S. A.)), which gives Russian specialists the new approach to designing of steady benches and safety berms of open pits on the basis of Sblock program.
The section «Economy, organization and management» includes the articles, showing the methods of assessment of influence of mining industry economics on resource region budget. These articles contain the analysis of modernization and innovation development of mineral-raw-material complex of North-Eastern Russian region, showing the economic indicators of Russian coal export in Pacific Rim countries through the Primorye sea ports.
The articles, shown in the section «Processing and complex usage of mineral raw materials», pay the great attention to the problems of processing of diamond-bearing ores and processing of rare-earth metals in Russia and other countries.
