The No. 6 issue of "Chernye metally" journal is opened by the large section "News of Metallurgical Companies".
The next section "Iron and Steel Production" includes 8 publications.
The specialists of the German Union of Metallurgists (VDEh) R. Fandrich, H.B. Lüngen and M. Sprecher prepared the review of up-to-date technologies for efficient production of coke, iron, steel that have been presented at the annual German metallurgical conference.
A. Erbe and H.-P. Heller from the Technical University Freiberg havt investigated the causes of relatively low demand on hot briquetted iron in the Central Europe and its expanding potential.
The specialists of Danieli Corus BV have exchanged with their experience od erection and putting into operation No. 5 blast furnace at Rourkela plant in India. It is shown that the new blast furnace will be the main modernization element of this SAIL works, in order to double its productivity.
A. Flick from Primetals Technologies Austria has analyzed in his review the future prospects of continuous casting process from the point of view of power saving, environment protection, more wide usage of such technologies as direct rolling, soft reduction and improvement of "Human-machine" interface.
Scientific and technical publications in this section are presented by the articles observing optimization of metal flow and crystallization processes during large ingot pouring, new radiometric sensor for measurement of liquid metal level in a mould, new device for milling of pouring ladles with monolithic lining.
In the end of this section the review of U. Ratzek, chief editor of "Stahl und Eisen" journal, about combination of the "clever" technological units in one net has been given based on the results of recently passes Stahldialog conference.
The June issue includes also the section "Steel as Material" and the report on the 13th Metallurgical Summit of Russia and CIS that took place in Moscow in June 2015.
Dr. Yulian Yusfin, the chief editor of "Chernye Metally" journal since 2010, has died. His large input in the journal development, his working principles and personal features are observed in the paper prepared by the editorial staff, editorial board and publishing house.
