Chernye Metally
The 5th issue of “Chernye Metally” journal (2017) contains the most of its conventional sections. It is opened, as usual, by the section “Iron and steel news of the world” and “News of metallurgical companies”.
The section “Steel making” includes 4 publications. G. Dorofeev with colleagues described the process ORIEN – the newest development for resource-saving and ecologically free steel making technology. N. Tursunov, A. Semin and G. Kotelnikov from the National University of Science and Technology “MISiS” presented the results of their investigations in kinetics of steel desulphurization in induction furnace. The foreign articles in this section described the method of secondary oxidation of refractories during the conract with aluminium-killed steel and the new LM3 lance manipulator providing efficiency rise and lowering the expenses in electric arc furnaces.
“Metal forming” section is again the main section of the issue. The specialists of SMS Group observed operation experience of one of the modern flat rolling complex at Shandong Iron and Steel Rizhao in China. BWG and Salzgitter Flachstalcollaborated successfully in transition of tandem rolling mill on continuous operation and it was the theme of the paper by Th. Preißler and Ch. Schnoklake. The authors from Linz (Austria) have described putting into practice up-to-date rolling stand for heavy plate production. Prof. V. Tyurin from Moscow displayed in his article researches of the effect of macro-shift deformation on mechanical properties of metal forgings made of ingots.
The features of electric power supply systems for iron and steel works are investigated in the paper prepared by the specialists from Lipetsk and Nizhiy Novgorod State Technical Universities.
The issue also includes publications in the following sections: “Steel as material” and “Economics and finances”.
