Tsvetnye Metally
The 6th issue of the journal “Tsvetnye Metally” (Non-ferrous metals) (June 2017) shares the issues of theory and practice of ore dressing, complex use of crude ore, production and processing of non-ferrous metals, materials science, etc.
The “Benefication” item is devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Gold Mining Company UGC: the results of improvement of gold-bearing ore processing technologies at the company’s dressing plants are shown.
The item “Noble metals and alloys” conveys the results of pilot testings regarding the technology for processing of Ag-Pb-Zn accumulators in order to obtain silver. The process flowsheet is described and is ready for implementation.
The article by G. D. Apalkova (item “Light metals and carbon materials”) tells about the rammability of aluminum electrolyzer's carbon pastes.
Authors from the I. V. Tananaev Institute of Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements and Mineral Raw Materials researched the solution, obtained during the nitric-acid decomposition of perovskite concentrate. The conclusion was that, together with titanium magnetite and sphene, perovskite belongs to non-traditional titanium raw materials and, fulfilling all the requirements of its complex processing, it makes it possible to obtain products that contain not only Ti, but also Ta, Nb and rare-earth metals.
The article by M. L. Kotsar, V. N. Kaplenkov and Z. M. Alekberov presents an analysis of possible reasons for cracking of titanium alloy products, belonging to the heat-exchange equipment of nuclear energetic tools. Such cracking usually happens as a result of hydration.
