Gornyi Zhurnal
The 8-th issue of Gornyi Zhurnal (Mining Journal) (August 2017) describes the production experience and scientific developments of mining enterprises and companies.
A part of this issue tells about the ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. Enterprises (JSC Dalur, JSC Khiahda and Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union): the practice of in-situ and heap leaching of uranium is extended, and ways of improvement of these technologies are shown. These articles describe not only the production, but also the social-ecological activities of the enterprises.
The item “Physics of Rocks and Processes” is about the practice of geomechanical modeling in the projects of open-cut and underground mining of deposits.
The item “Development of Deposits” describes the calculation methods for parameters of drilling and blasting operations on open pits for the required quality of drilling. This method is successfully applied by many mining enterprises in Russia.
The item “Training of Personnel” gives insight into the Norilsk Nickel Corporate University. It is a unique institution, with the audience of more than 45 thousands people annually and specializing in professional advancement and skills training. It has its own underground training site, adapted to the real conditions. In 2016, the University opened its multimedia complex.
