Chernye Metally
The 12th issue of “Chernye metally” journal (2017) is opened by the usual sections “Iron and steel news of the world” and “Innovations of the metallurgical companies”.
The section “Ironmaking” is presented by the paper written by the specialists from Danieli Corus BV company. They have compared constructions of two blast furnaces with different lining. The first furnace has copper plate cooler and graphite and carborundum refractories, while the second one – external copper evaporating coolers.
The German specialists from Hamburg, Freilassing and Duisburg have presented the joint technique for evaluation of blowing process based on analysis of the spectrum of pressure and vibration measuring signals.
The section “Rolling and other metal forming processes” is opened by the report by Nikolay Gugis about the main tendencies and development directions of Russian rolling production in 2015-2017; this report had been presented at the International rolling congress in Magnitogorsk in October 2017. Two other papers in this section are devoted to the new boron nitride coating for grinding wheels of new generation used for rolls of cold rolling mills and to the preventing coupling used in the powerful extruding press.
Special section is devoted to innovations of the Polytechnic institute of the Tula State University. Four articles present the results of the following researches in the area of engineering technologies: metrological provision of testing of magnetic materials; silicon effect on the structure of facing materials; technological inheritance of the properties of an initial billet in the accuracy parameters of extended axisymmetric parts; the effect of ammonia additions in cementation on forming the structural areas of a hardened layer and profile of carbon and nitrogen concentration.
The specialists from the Ural Federal University presented the results of examination of crystal structure of 32G1, 32G2 and 35KhGF steel samples via EBSD analysis. These samples have been taken from hot-rolled tubes at Sinarsky Pipe Plant. This paper and three other materials are included in the section “Metal science and metallography”.
The issue also has the section “Transport and logistics” and the memorial article on 90th anniversary of Ivan Frantsenyuk, the former director of Novolipetsk Metallurgical Works during many years.
