Chernye Metally
The 4th issue of “Chernye metally” journal (2018) includes the most of its usual sections.
“Iron making” section is presented by the paper of H. Spahn devoted to modifications of macro- and microstructure of self-sufficient agglomerate during temperature variation in the modern blast furnaces.
“Steel making” section presents the work from Leoben mining university (Austria); its specialists investigated content of hexavalent chromium in steelmaking slags and the place of this process in the framework of European technical policy.
“Continuous casting and foundry production” section includes the paper by I.E. Illarionov from Chuvash State University on metal phosphate binders and moulding mixtures based on core sands and moulds for manufacturing iron and steel castings. The results of studies of dependence between density, surface tension, wetting contact angle and binding capacity are examined.
“Rolling and other metal forming processes” is the main section in this issue. S.P. Galkin and his colleagues displayed the resource-saving technology for rolling of round products from used railroad shafts at the original mini-mill. Publication from Primetals Technologies showed the operating results of the new intensive high-pressure cooling line at the wide hot strip mill of thessenkripp Steel Europe plant in Duisburg. AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke presented the new sheet steel Dillimax for high-capacity lifting equipment. A.A. Filippov and other scientists from Nizhniy Novgorod observed the method of forming the structural and mechanical properties of rolled steel for heading of core products.
“Tube making” section includes the paper of G.A. Orlov and his colleagues from Ural Federal University about the complex evaluation of the quality of hot-rolled tubes. This evaluation was done for the tubes manufactured via the existing and improved technologies, with comparison of the obtained parameters in accordance with Harrington desirability scale.
The issue also contains the papers in the sections “Surface coating and processing”, “Power engineering and ecology” and “Economics and finances”.
