Chernye Metally
The first issue of the "Chernye Metally" journal is opened by the "Preparing raw materials" section. The authors consider the possibility of using in the blast-furnace process biomass and waste plastics, self-regenerating granules and ore-coal composites, coke nut, granular and pre-treated coal, briquetted charge for the Corex process and other products.
In the second article of the section, the authors of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia propose, when obtaining molybdenum oxide, to replace the firing of molybdenum sulfide by its mechanical activation.
In the “Foundry production” section, Professor I. E. Illarionov and co-authors presented studies of the coating and penetrating layers depending on the content of mechanically activated graphite in the filler of the coating applied to cold hardening mixtures based on liquid glass and resins.
In the section “Rolling and other metal deformation processes”, a comprehensive method for calculating the deformation and energy-power indicators and parameters of the combined technological process of rotational drawing and cross-rolling of a wheel disk from a sheet blank has been proposed. The section also presents studies of drawing low rectangular boxes from various variants of shaped blanks.
The authors of the section “Energy and Ecology” presented an analysis of prospects for transition to new methods of environmental protection regulation by introducing the best available technologies (BAT) in enterprises of iron and steel industry of the Russian Federation and gave an assessment of the materials presented in the “BAT Handbook. Iron, Steel and Ferroalloy Production” developed by the BAT Bureau. It has been shown that the handbook needs some follow-up revision. Also in the section, the solution to the issue of storing red mud by involving it in complex processing with the extraction of most useful components has been proposed.
In the section “Metallurgy and metallography”, the authors presented studies of static and dynamic magnetic properties and plasticity of amorphous cobalt alloy ribbons in order to improve their properties and ensure competitive use based on modern management and control methods.
The works of authors of the “Machine-building technologies” section are devoted to establishing the relationship between the accuracy of the finished jet engine and its component parts, as well as the algorithm for synthesizing a working part of cutting tools using the graphic-analytical method.
