Obogashchenie Rud

The second issue of the journal is characterized by a high thematic saturation, which is indicated by a sufficiently large number of sections. They are seven: almost constant — «Beneficiation technology», «Beneficiation processes», «Environment protection technology», regular — «Ore preparation», «Technological mineralogy», «Secondary raw material processing», and periodically appearing — «Foreign experience».

However, the topic of the issue can rightly be called the section «Secondary raw material processing», which includes four articles. Almost all of them are devoted to the recycling of industrial and municipal waste. The section opens with an article on the developed technology of hydrometallurgical processing of low-grade copper products of copper sandstones beneficiation. It is followed by publication in which a method is proposed for extracting contaminating components from aluminum production sweepings for their subsequent recovery to the electrolyzer. Relevant articles on vibration technology of snow melting waste recycling and on utilization ways of mining and processing industry mass waste containing silicate minerals with obtaining valuable construction material — foam glass deserve unconditional attention.

The publication in the first section of the number «Ore preparation» is interesting. It deals with the issue of cutting oversize when working crushers, frozen rocks, large metallurgical castings, etc. The design of the perforator-drummer, the use of which allows to work in shock and shock-rotational modes, is presented.

The perspective topic is covered in the section «Beneficiation technology» — simulation modeling of technological processes using specialized software.

The article of the section «Beneficiation processes» presents a modified foaming agent MP for the intensification of technogenic gold-containing raw materials flotation.

The publication in the section «Technological mineralogy» introduces the results of mineralogical and technological study of vein quartz in order to expand the use of this raw material and the development of its deep beneficiation technology.

The article in the section «Environment protection technology» presents the results of the analysis of two storage projects for thickened ore-processing tailings in Russia and Canada. Practical confirmation to the possibility of organizing a highly efficient storage method and technology for highly thickened fine tailings in the conditions of the Far North is given.

The final section of the issue «Foreign experience» presents a study of the modes of hydrotransport of limonite ore from the Moa-East deposit (Cuba). The constructed mathematical models develop enable designing special methods for calculating the main parameters for the hydraulic transportation of ore in the turbulent and structural conditions.
