Chernye Metally

The journal "Chernye Metally" No. 1-2022 was published, which is mainly dedicated to the 90^th  anniversary of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works. The articles in this section cover the issues of selecting the parameters of flux-cored wire with calcium-containing reagents during ladle processing of steel in the EAF of PJSC MMK, the theoretical possibility of using calcium carbide for deoxidation at the tapping at the PJSC MMK LD plant, studying data on the use of automated supply units for slag-forming mixtures of production TECHNOAP Engineering Ltd. in CCM molds in PJSC MMK, the influence of the microstructure of hot-rolled steel grade 38KhGNM on the formation of the structure and properties of rolled products during annealing and a number of other information materials. The results and prospects for further development of the production of hot-rolled coils in the casting and rolling complex of MMK Metalurji are also presented.

The "Ore dressing" section presents an article by the authors of the Ural State Mining University, devoted to technology using drum separators with increased magnetic field induction in the initial operations of magnetite and titanomagnetite ores dressing schemes.

The article by the authors of the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R. E. Alekseev I. O. Leushin, O. S. Koshelev, L. I. Leushina, A. I. Markov considers the production of cores for steel and iron castings from mixtures with a binder based on combinations of inorganic salts.

The "Pipe Production" section includes an article by specialists from the Ural Federal University on modeling pipe technological tests using the ESI Virtual Performance Solution 16.0 software package.

The “Metal Science and Heat Treatment” section presents articles by authors from Volgograd and Naberezhnye Chelny, which highlight the effects of various cooling media during hardening of thin-sheet rolled products from corrosion-resistant steel 12Kh17G9AN4-Sh, and also describe the process of obtaining intermetallic alloys of the Fe-Al system from dispersed engineering waste.

The journal publishes congratulations on the anniversary of the leading expert of the scientific project of the Metal Forming chair, a member of the editorial board of the "Chernye Metaly" journal Lyudmila Mikhailovna Kaputkina and a prominent scientist in the field of metal forming Viktor Matveyevich Salganik.
