Chernye Metally
The "Chernye Metally" journal No. 8-2022 has been published.
The issue is headed with a greeting from the first vice-rector of the Volgograd State Technical University S. V. Kuzmin. This year, within the walls of the university, the chair for Materials Science and Composite Materials celebrated its 90th anniversary. The anniversary selection of publications presents historical information about the chair, as well as the latest developments in the field of structures and properties of aluminized alloys, a five-layer composite material consisting of 3 layers of titanium coating and 2 layers of corrosion-resistant steel. Also, the specialists of the chair carried out computer simulation of deformation processes of the optical cable of the lightning wire, which provides protection for overhead power lines against lightning strikes and at the same time organizes fiber-optic communication lines.
The issue presents traditional sections devoted to scientific developments in the field of production of iron, steel, pipes, as well as metallurgy and metallography.
In the "Rolling and other metal forming processes" section four works of specialists from Lipetsk, Yekaterinburg, Magnitogorsk and Naberezhnye Chelny are published. These articles touch upon the issues of product quality control of a sheet-rolling shop, the influence of the feed angle on parameters of the helical rolling process, deformation specifics of 40KhN2MA steel in the initial and heat-treated states, as well as the analysis of tolerance parameters on the workpiece elements being processed, ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of machining workpieces of machine parts.
Noteworthy is the article in the “Refractory” section about zirconium refractory materials, a relatively new type of high-tech ceramic product.
Of particular interest to readers will be the publication in the economic section, dedicated to modern trends in the development of production technologies in the ferrous metallurgy of the Asian part of Russia.
