A significant part of the issue take the articles written by representatives of industrial and university science. There are presented results of research in the field of geomechanics, ecology, recycling and multipurpose utilization of mineral resources.
A new section, “Unknown pages of the life of famous people”, is dedicated to the student's years of V. G. Korolenko, the outstanding writer, classic of the Russian literature.
“Gornyi Zhurnal” (“Mining Journal”) continues publishing information on the Ukrainian Sanatorium-Hotel complex "Dnipro-Beskyd". Interview with the Chairman of the Board of the "Sanatorium-Hotel complex "Dnipro-Beskyd" JSC, Doctor of Medical Sciences A. I. Chebanenko is published in this issue. Dr. Chebanenko responded to several questions concerning organization and treatment conditions of mining and metallurgical industry workers.
The journal also continues to inform its readers about the events that are directly relevant to the scientific and technical progress in the mining industry. In the issue, there are presented reviews of the past and announcements about the upcoming Russian and international conferences, workshops, forums and exhibitions.
In particular, publications of the issue summarized the scientific and practical conference “Innovation and nanotechnology in the modernization of industry on the basis of mineral resources in the current conditions of the country development”, 7th Conference “Research and Investment in the Mining Industry» orginized by the Raw Materials Group. Until the end of 2011 there will take place a Scientific and Technical Conference “Development of new mining areas in Siberia and at the Far East” (Moscow, Russia), The 2nd Mining Forum “MINEX Central Asia 2011” (Astana, Kazakhstan), XII Euro-Asian Machine-Building Forum (Ekaterinburg, Russia), The 18th International Exhibition of Equipment and Technologies of Stone Processing “Stonetech 2011” (Beijing, China), etc.
