Abstract | This article dedicates to the research of the ways to improve the producing of non-ferrous metals scrap. The compound of nonferrous metals scrap has got a lot of variety and to provide the quality producing of metal, you have to assure the as much as possible extraction of valuable components. The main components of low-grade non-ferrous metals scrap, which has been investigated in this work, are silver and lead. Nowadays lots of technologies are used to recycling non-ferrous metals scrap, actually for accumulators scrap recycling. At the beginning of the development of the technology, there was only silver and zinc in batteries. Later in the 1970s and 1980s, then up to 10% copper was added to save silver for the purpose of economy. Consequently, it was not so easy to separate the precious metals from each other. Recently, in order to save the silver, lead is added into the batteries. Battery capacity is not reducing and the content of lead can be up to 10%. Due to the containing one more valuable component, there is a need of separation all the metals, because in modern metallurgy the problem of the complexity of the material being processed is very relevant, including non-ferrous metals, which really is diverse in its composition represented metals. The old technology does not solve the problem. To study the influence of various factors on the extraction of silver from low-grade raw materials, particularly scrap batteries, with a small silver content, were investigated by melting raw materials under various conditions. The influence of temperature and time of firing on silver recovery in crude metal. Also studied the effect of adding heat fluxes during the extraction of silver. To save the expense of flux studied the effect of blowing air to melt silver recovery in crude metal. |
