This paper presents a mathematical model for calculating wear rate of the energetic parameter of wear of work rolls at quarto stands No. 7–9 of 20000 rolling mill at Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works. The proposed mathematical model allows to determine the above-mentioned factors for the cases of use and lack of applying the lubricant on the work rolls of fi rst three stands of fi nishing mill. Dependences of registering the qualitative changes in the process of wear of work rolls, with the presence of technological lubricant, are built.
