The article is devoted to the comparison of the basic principles of the gas pipeline construction of Arctic seas. The Schtokman gas condensate deposit and other deposits in the Barents Sea were chosen as the research object. The results of environmental assessment of the Barents Sea, were provided along with the development and comparison of Russian and Norwegian construction principles, emphasizing the most efficient technology.
