Abstract
SMS Meer company uses optical measuring system, manufactured by Dr. Heinrich Schneider Messtechnik company, for its PSM sizing system in section steel production. The measu ring device is based on well-recommended VideoCAD system and is already used at metallurgical works of Timken (USA), where it has confirmed its efficiency during measuring operations at roll mounting and showed its reliability, precision of measurements and easiness of usage.
