Abstract | There was carried out the mathematical description of processes of oxygen and carbon mass delivery within the melt and during the deoxidizing of copper with fuel. There is shown that unsteady-state oxygen diffusion within the liquid phase is the most probable limiting stage of the process. In the laboratory experiment conditions, the time of beginning of fuel evaporation was calculated on the basis of equation of transient heat conduction. There is formulated the supposition, that after the beginning of reducing agent boiling (250 оC), the copper deoxidizing process goes with the gaseous phase, containing carbon monoxide. Organization of melt mixing by flushing of inert gas or gaseous reducing agent is considered as reasonable for the purpose of intensification of oxygen removement during the anodic melting. There was obtained the fitted equation of copper oxidation rate, depending on the length of process with the temperature of 1150 оC. |
