Abstract |
There were carried out the studies of the shards of furnaces refinery, containing silver, gold and platinum group metals. The purpose of this work is study of material composition of furnaces refinery shards and development of efficient technology for noble metals recovery. Mineralogical analysis have shown that the sample is primarily composed by debris, which physical and optical properties are similar to periclase. The major part of silver alloys in non-magnetic fraction with size from 0.01 to 1.0–1.3 mm is in free form. A smaller part is observed as inclusions of nonmetallic mineral debris in magnetic fraction. Size of inclusions is 0.01–0.03 mm. There were studied the “dry” and “wet” concentration methods. Studies have shown that pneumatic separation process is inefficient for unclassified material (due to high metal losses with tails) and low concentration ratio. Two operations of magnetic separators with permanent and electromagnetic systems did not provide the concentration of metals in any obtained concentration product. The following gravitation equipment was investigated: centrifugal concentrators “ITOMAK” and “Falcon”, centrifugal JIG “Kelsey”, screw sluice, and concentration tables SKO and “Gemeni”. Devices allow to extract up to 45% for a single operation at concentration of 2–6. Flotation method provided the greatest degree of silver concentration of all studied methods (~7.5). Combined gravity-flotation process flowsheet was offered. Recovery of gold, silver and platinum group metals to the concentrate was 66.7, 62.89 and 70.42%, respectively |
