Research of multi-step mills work showed the opportunity of solving of energy-saving problems in the time of processing of mineral and technogenic raw materials almost in all industrial fields. Comparison of technical characteristics of serial and developed devices showed the advantages of realization of processing technology in devices, based on multi-step milling and classification. Results of application of automatic control system in the process of aluminium slag milling are shown in the article. There is shown the obtaining opportunity of submicron powders, using mechanical-miling method in multi-step mill. Comparative analysis of powders, obtained from centrifugal separator and sieving machine for chemistry identification, was carried out together with morphology of received material particles. There was offered the automatic control system of structure-indefinite multi-component materials processing, using the particle granulometric definition method in substance flow. Realization of frequency converter in mill drive system allows to upgrade its functionality both by productivity and endproduct quality. The automatic control system of milling process with granulometric feedback allows to do the following operations: obtaining of end-product with required characteristics; increasing of device reliability of the line; exclusion of emergency operation; increasing of line units lifetime; and reduction of electric power consumption per unit. It’s possible to implement the developed processing technological scheme with automatic control system in established businesses of different materials milling without large capital costs.
