Abstract

This work is devoted to the research of perrhenate-ion anionite sorption, based on epichlorohydrin oligomer and 4-vinylpyridine. Reticulated structure of complexing anion exchanger was synthesized by polycondensation with a weight ratio of epichlorohydrin oligomer and 4-vinylpyridine, equal to 1.0 : 0.4. According to this, its static exchange capacity (0.1 M solution of HCl) is 6.75 mg-eq/g. The structure of anion exchanger surface before and after rhenium sorption was researched by electron microscopy method. The OECH-VP anion exchanger has a folded surface with developed system of macropores, which size is in the range of 0.698–1.764 microns, while the size of individual pores reach 2.585 microns. There was studied the influence of concentration (in the range of 0.102–1.024 g/L of rhenium) and pH of ammonium perrhenate model solutions and contact time on its sorption characteristics. There was found the minimal influence of acidity on extraction of perrhenate ion by anion exchanger at pH = 1.8–6.2. Under optimal conditions (pH = 5.1), sorption capacity of new anion exchanger and perrhenate ion extraction value reach their maximum values and are equal to 371.6 mg of Re/g and 99%, respectively. Equilibrium between anion exchanger and NH4ReO4 solution, containing 0.94 g/L of rhenium and pH = 5.1, is reached in 6 h. Thus, for the first 15 minutes, 81% of rhenium (VII) ions are extracted. At the same time, anion exchanger, based on epichlorohydrin oligomer and 4-vinylpyridine, has high sorption properties, according to rhenium (VII) ions. According to this, there was made a definition that extraction capacity of this anion exchanger is higher than many industrial medium- and low-basic anion exchangers.
