Abstract

Institute “Gipronikel” was found in 1934. Nowadays, it is the basic Research and Design Centre of “Norilsk Nickel” MMC, with great experience in designing of various capacity mining enterprises at different mining, geological and climatic conditions. Over 150 underground mines and pits were constructed and commissioned, according to the Institute projects. For the last 20 years Institute “Gipronikel” has fulfilled a number of valued projects for “Norilsk Nickel” MMC and other customers. Since 1993, the Institute has developed a design and working documentation for construction and commissioning of underground workings, headgears and heap-stead structures for Internatsionalny, Aikhal, Mir, and Udachny mines (JSC “Alrosa”). The Institute has been working as a Chief Designer in 2009–2010, developing a large project of Ust-Yayvinsky mine (JSC “Uralkali”) with capacity of 11 mln. t of sylvinite ore per year. A large scope of design and working documentation was developed for upgrade of Skalisty, Oktyabrsky, Taimyrsky, Mayak, Komsomolsky, and Zapolyarny mines (Polar Division of “Norilsk Nickel” MMC), and during the designing of Severny-Glubokiy mine (Kola MMC).
The Institute pays a great attention to the following operations:
— arrangement of design and monitoring of modern project documentation development;
— development of integrated computer aided design system, based on 3D modeling in a single information space;
— improvement of labour efficiency and documentation quality.
