Abstract

Decreasing of negative influence on environment and organization of reasonable use of natural sources are among the most important for “UMMC-Holding” LLC. Repeated usage of purified waste water in production cycle is on of the basic measures for effective use of water sources. Researches on the choice of the precipitating reagent for chemical neutralization technology for industrial solutions and storm water were executed. These solutions are characterized by high content of salt and oil products aimed on removal of metals (copper, nickel, zinc, iron and arsenic). As a result, flowsheets of waste water treatment at the enterprise were developed, it allowed totally exclude their disposal in natural lake Kluchi. This technology includes neutralization of waste water by lime milk or alkali solution with consequent suspension gravity sedimentation and filtration of lightened and thickened parts. The purification technology was implemented in 2013. During industrial trials optimal technological parameters were determined: pH of storm water purification is 10.0–10.5 and pH of blowdown water in closed-circuit cooling systems by lime is 11.0–11.5, with possibility of process intensification by adding sodium sulfide solution. The achieved residual concentration of impurities in purified water makes <0.1 mg/dm3 of copper, nickel, iron; <0.05 mg/dm3 of zinc, arsenic. Quality of purified water meets the requirements of the regulations for circulating systems of the enterprise and satisfies MAC (maximum allowable concentration). Implementation of the presented technologies allowed to stop the negative influence of waste flows on the environment and to decrease consumption of technical water by appr. 12 000 m3/month.
